Salvation is in the Gospel
There is no doubt that the instructions needed for eternal life is found in the Gospels, also known as the “Apostles doctrine”. What is missed by so many however, is that the Gospel that was given in Biblical times by Christ to his Apostles, is not the exact same teaching that we MUST have today in order to gain entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. Before his departure, Christ commanded his disciples to:
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15), “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:20)
When we look at what the world is teaching today as “The Gospel,” we must ask ourselves, “Are they teaching the EXACT SAME TEACHINGS in which Christ taught to his disciples? There must be NO deviations from the original teachings of Christ if we are to have the true Gospel which is designed to lead us to eternal life.
The Gospel given today is not the same Gospel given by Christ (Another Gospel)
This may come as a shock to most. The world religions are not teaching the original Gospel. Reading from the Bible every week and preaching Christ is not the Gospel. Sure, Christ is part of the Gospel, but it is not enough to preach his existence and salvation though faith without preaching ALL that he commanded us to do. The Apostle Paul warned us about this perverted doctrine, which is disguised as “The Gospel.”
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:6-8
Pervert– alter (something) from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended.
Apostle Paul goes on to warn the world that salvation only resides in learning and obeying the original Gospel which was handed down from Christ to the Apostles. He said that if anyone, whether they are earthly or heavenly teaches anything different than the Original teachings of Christ, let them be under God’s curse.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!- Galatians 1:8
A Period of Restoration.
Just as in the time before the arrival of Christ during the New Testament era, we are in a period of restoration. The original gospel is much different than “the Gospel” being taught today, so unfortunately, when people receive information pertaining to the “Original Gospel” which they are not familiar with, they tend to reject it because of its foreign nature. Similarly, the religious scholars of Biblical times were told by Christ that they have shut up the kingdom of heaven against men because of their tainted teachings (Matthew 23:13). The teachings today are so deceitful that John, in the book of Revelation said that Satan will have deceived the entire world (Revelations 12:9). However, God’s elect, cannot and will not be deceived (Matthew 24:24). This is the Children of Yisra’el (Israel)-Isaiah 45:4.
Since the Gospel consist of what Christ taught his disciples, we must take the time out to compare what we are being taught today to that which was given by Christ? Many Pastors will attempt to dispel the fact that we have to believe in the exact same Gospel by pointing you to ambiguous Bible verses such as Romans 10:9 as the only requirement today for salvation.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
There are many man-made traditions which religious denominations have incorporated into the Gospel which was never part of the Gospel. In fact, these traditions go against the very teachings of the Bible. We were commanded to never add to what was in the Gospel nor to take away from it.
8 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:18-19
